The most recent blog contribution about the history of the Hotel Metropole and its operator, the limited hotel company Metropole, has just gone online. 

The luxury hotel on Morzinplatz was opened in 1873 on the occasion of the world's fair, and then appropriated after the “Anschluss” in March 1938, so that it could be ultimately used as the Viennese Gestapo headquarters until its destruction by severe bomb damage in 1945.
