Almost all of the presented publications come from the publication of the German Imperial Gazette (Deutscher Reichsanzeiger), which has been newly available on ZEDHIA since 18 April 2023. The rise of the Krupp family in Essen, which still emulated English standards in steel production at the start of its business activity, only to quickly surpass them, is clearly evident and traceable in these reports. As this important company of the German steel industry was reported on very regularly in those days, the trove has been divided into two blog posts. Part 1 and Part 2, which together cover the period up until 1880, can be retrieved in the ZEDHIA blog.
The ZEDHIA portal will close its doors on September 1, 2025. Historical economic data is now available in the new Almanach, which is directly integrated into Wirtschafts-Compass, Austria's leading platform for economic information. This will make your research more user-friendly and provide a more compact and modern presentation!
You can find your new access to the Almanach here: APP Wirtschafts-Compass
If you have active ZEDHIA access, your data has already been transferred, and you will have received an email from us.
