More than 600.000 scans done

Our ZEDHIA project is approaching the finish line at an accelerated pace.

By late September 2013, already 8 out of each 9 volumes of the aggregate volume (Compass and Zentralblatt [centralized sheet]) were handed over to Treventus for digitalization. The remaining 90 volumes will be shipped to Treventus during October in order to go through the scanning. So far, more than 600.000 scans are done, we got through more than half of the total job.
Also post-editing of the scans, finishing the full text and generating the pdf files for later on-line use is on schedule: this job has been completed for close to 200 volumes, about 26% of the overall volume.

At the same time, work for the online portal is in good progress. About 250.000 scans have been entered into the presentation system, and in addition to in-house tests, work is progressing intensively for structuring via meta data. The ZEDHIA project team expects a first test version of ZEDHIA during November 2013.
Special good news is the enhancement of the ZEDHIA TEAM with Ms Judith Fink and Ms Sabine Wodni joining. Starting in summer 2013, the two project assistants are in charge especially of scan verification and classification, a valuable and important support for ZEDHIA.
