ZEDHIA
ZEDHIA is a publicly accessible interactive online archive. The platform provides digitalised, indexed information files on Central European economic history and genealogy. The publications collected in ZEDHIA currently (as at January 2018) run to around 3196 volumes with over 1.1 million pages and also cover the history of Austrian companies from 1868 to 2003.
In the case in question, access to ZEDHIA is via ACOnet Identity Federation and eduGAIN. The institution used for logging on sends a unique identifier for the accessing person to ZEDHIA.
Administration of the personal details resides with the institution; Compass-Verlag GmbH receives the user ID but does not process any other personal details that may be sent by the institutions.
Unique user ID: Using the ID that is sent by your institution at the time of use, we are able to allocate profiles and collections created by you to you again
and
person details that are contained in your collections.
The user ID is not passed to third parties by Compass unless Compass is obligated to disclose it on the basis of statutory provisions (e.g. statutory obligations to cooperate in criminal proceedings). The user ID is supplied as a feature in evaluations for queries and arrangements with the respective institutions.
The collections created by the respective users with any personal details are saved by Compass, while administration is performed by the users themselves.

The data is retained for the statutory period of obligations to provide evidence for the accounting, after which the data will be deleted.
The rights of the data subjects pursuant to Section III DSGVO concerning personal details may only be asserted against Compass-Verlag GmbH with regard to the sent unique user ID.
The assertion of rights regarding other personal details can only be made against the respective institution as identity provider, since Compass Verlag GmbH does not process any data other than the user ID.
The user can delete and amend any collections they have created on the platform.
